Community Social Support Services

"It's all about whanau!"

Te Tuinga Whanau offers a free social work, advocacy, information and support service to everyone regardless of ethnicity. People generally do not have to make an appointment to meet with a social worker at the office between the hours of 9:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Thursday.

Experienced advocates and knowledgeable in the processes of statutory agencies; our social workers walk alongside families/individuals to help them achieve their goals. They bridge the gap between legislative process and client understanding through heightened awareness and support. Our social workers offer advocacy in a variety of matters and situations, the most common being issues with; WINZ, Oranga Tamariki, Housing NZ, IRD/Child Support, family court/custody, domestic violence and youth/parenting.

Our social workers are committed to keeping up with what’s happening in community and ensure they have strong relationships with a wide range of local support services.

Home visits are by appointment only. Please contact us if you require more information on our services or if you would like to arrange an appointment.

My strength comes not from myself alone, but from those who are on the journey with me.
