The scope of our services continues to expand to meet the needs of our community.
SOCIAL SERVICES
Our Social Workers are experienced advocates with sound
knowledge of statutory processes. They walk alongside families
and individuals, providing them with the tools and skill sets they
need to achieve their goals and aspirations.
youth services
We provide Youth Justice referred Supported Bail to the most at-
risk youth in our community. Our mentors use unique, strength-
based methods rooted strongly in Te Ao Maori to encourage self-
awareness and personal growth.
transitional housing
Our Transitional Housing programme 'Whare 4 Whanau' provides
temporary accommodation for families in need. During their stay,
Social Workers and Counselors provide wrap around services
and targeted programmes to help address the root causes that
lead to homelessness.
WHARE TUHUA
The first of it’s kind in our rohe, our Community Remand Care
Home is a tikanga-based home environment for youth to be
placed while On Remand. Our House Parents and Mentors
provide holistic care as well as cultural learning, character
building and educational activities.
THE HAPPY PUKU & THE PUKU PATCH
The Happy Puku is our Social Enterprise, which aims to teach
people in our Transitional Housing how to grow a kai, catch a kai
and cook a kai, as well as providing work experience through
catering events. Our organic gardens, aka The Puku Patch,
provide both an education space and food for our whanau and
for the Happy Puku.
