Homeless mothers from around the region are leaving the streets and putting on aprons, as part of a programme hoping to reconnect them within their own community.
At a recent conference in Tauranga called Reconnecting the Disconnected, Te Tuinga Whanau invited a range of organisations to talk through issues of rising homelessness in the region.
Up to 150 packages were gifted to Tauranga families living in emergency accommodation at at Te Tuinga Whanau Carrus Christmas party. Whanau patron and philatropist Paul Adams and friends test out some of the presents.
