TRANSITIONAL HOUSING CO-ORDINATOR / REGISTERED SOCIAL WORKER
I am a mother of two beautiful boys, and married my soul mate in 2016. I am a registered Social Worker and have been working for Te Tuinga Whanau since 2010.
I was born in Wellington but moved to the sunny Bay of Plenty when I was 3 years old, I spent a lot of my time at the beach, swimming and doing things with our family. I lived in Papamoa until my husband and I brought our first home in Merivale where we have lived since 2014.
I studied through the University of Waikato based here at the Tauranga Campus. Along with my degree I bring life experience that shapes the way I practice.
What do I do…….. I help people (in a nut shell).
I take a holistic approach, and a strength based way of working. I like to listen and work with people to bring about change, to enhance their environment and empower them to make the changes they need for a better life for them and their whanau.
I have a passion for empowering victims of family violence, and I will not judge you!! I believe that everyone has the right to feel safe in there own home, I believe we all have our own life story and no story will ever be the same, I believe we can walk beside each other to make positive changes.
A part of my role here at Te Tuinga Whanau, I, along with the team, assist clients who are experiencing issues with other agencies, or issues in their own lives. No matter how big or small, I can support you to navigate your way through some of these agencies as I know how confusing they can be at times. We can also refer to programmes and other agencies and point you in the right direction within Tauranga Moana.
Don’t be afraid to come on down and meet us and see how we can help you.
