My knowledge of the Maori Womens League that I have been National President of for the past 3 years started when I was a child, observing the role modeling from my late mother and aunt Raiha, and mums close friend Rumatiki Wright. I became actively involved during the early years of my marriage in 1967 as the Secretary Treasurer of Hawera Branch.

Tommy Kapai Wilson

Chief Imagination Officer / Tangata Moemoea

Hi I’m Tommy Wilson but some of you will know me as the children’s author of the popular series of books about Kapai the kiwi and Cuzzies. I’ve always been a creator, some might even say a dreamer, but I think that’s a good thing. Without that personality trait I don’t think I would have had the courage to do half the things I have done.
